This project has been in collaboration with Tony McClure (exhibitions technician at BCU) and Maderian Visuals. Together we had a joint aim to curate an exhibition in Birmingham City University to showcase all of our work.

My research began by looking into Haute Couture fashion and Avant Garde design. I knew that my collection needed to be big, bold and eye-catching to be able to stand out in the exhibition setting, but I wanted to go bigger than ever, with surface design, obscure silhouettes and interesting themes.

I chose to focus on rock formations, in particular geodes. This led me to the artist Sigalit Landau who submerges personal items in the Dead Sea for them to be permanently be crystallised and preserved, I experimented with producing my own crystallisation techniques on a small scale and decided to include them in my garments as well as the exhibition as it's not something you see everyday!

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 the University was closed before I could finish my garments and display them in the exhibition - this was of course very disheartening but I carried on at home - doing what I could with the help of tutors via video call.
